6 Amazingly Relaxing Days in Cabo San Lucas: A Solo Traveler’s Dream Escape

Day 1: Arrival and Checking into Paradise

I arrived at Cabo San Lucas Airport around noon and took a scheduled van to my hotel, the Siesta Suites Boutique Hotel. It’s a well-kept spot with a charming, laid-back atmosphere and a pretty nice bar attached. I spent some enjoyable evenings there chatting with the bartender (whose name I regrettably forgot) and even had the chance to meet the friendly owners. They were originally from the San Diego area and shared some great tips about driving my own van down to Cabo, should I ever choose to take on that adventure.

After dropping off my bags, I took a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood. It was the perfect way to soak in the atmosphere and get a feel for the town. As evening rolled in, I treated myself to a relaxing dinner, enjoying the simplicity and charm of the area.

Day 2: Exploring Town and Cabo Wabo

After a good night’s sleep, I decided to continue my leisurely exploration. I wandered through town, taking in the local vibe, and stopped at a cozy café for a delicious cup of coffee. Eventually, I made my way to Cabo Wabo Cantina, a well-known restaurant and bar with a cool, lively atmosphere. The meal was great, and the vibe was just what I was hoping for on this laid-back trip.

With the warm weather, I decided to walk off my meal and slowly made my way back to the hotel. As I was walking down the street, I heard a lady call out for me from down the street. Turned out to be a young lady offering a massage, which was perfect after the meal and walk. That evening, I relaxed at the hotel bar once again, enjoying friendly conversations and soaking in the carefree Cabo spirit.

Day 3: A Boat Tour to Land’s End and More Local Fun

The next morning, I made my way to the marina for breakfast and enjoyed the bustling waterfront views. Afterward, I joined a boat tour to see the iconic El Arco, the famous rock formation Cabo is known for. Cruising along the sparkling waters and taking in the dramatic coastline was one of the highlights of the trip. At the end of the day, I enjoyed the Soup of the day.

Day 4: Relaxing at the Hotel

Apparently from looking back on my photos, I barely did anything but eat for the day and spent most of my time on the hotel property outside of going to eat. I had the urge for Italian food and ordered from a restaurant beneath the hotel.

Day 5: Discovering San José del Cabo

Looking for a cultural experience, I decided to grab lunch at a quirky spot called WTF. Despite the name, they serve one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. With my appetite satisfied, I continued my wanderings and stumbled upon a fish spa where I had my feet gently nibbled on by small fish — a bizarre but memorable experience!

As I explored further, I took plenty of food photos and scenic shots, capturing small details of Cabo San Lucas that caught my eye. It was a perfectly unstructured day, and I loved every minute of it.

I took a short ride to San José del Cabo. This charming town is filled with art galleries, boutique shops, and colorful colonial buildings. I was lucky enough to attend the Thursday Night Art Walk, where the streets came alive with music and vibrant artwork. Unfortunately, I left my camera at the hotel.

A leisurely lunch at Jazmin’s offered a delicious taste of traditional Mexican cuisine. Later, I returned to Cabo San Lucas to savor a relaxing evening at Cocina del Mar.

Day 6: Coffee, Mi Casa, and Farewell

My final day began with a relaxing morning coffee, savoring the last moments of my Cabo getaway. I spent a little time back at the hotel, leisurely packing and preparing for check-out. With an evening flight ahead, I had one last place in mind for lunch: Mi Casa.

This vibrant restaurant was an excellent choice, offering delicious traditional Mexican cuisine and a warm atmosphere that perfectly complemented the experience. After my meal, I returned to the hotel to collect my bags and waited for my pre-arranged van to the airport.

I found the van service incredibly convenient for both arrival and departure, as everything was scheduled and on time. Although I don’t remember the exact company name, I had booked it easily through a Google search. If you’re planning a trip to Cabo, I highly recommend considering a pre-arranged shuttle for a smooth and hassle-free transfer.

A notable travel tip I’d share is that, since I live in San Diego, I opted to fly out of Tijuana for a much cheaper flight to Mexico. The savings were significant, making this an excellent option for travelers near the border.
